When to order your dress

As our dresses are made to order, the lead time for our gowns is between 6 and 7 months. However, if your wedding is sooner than this, please enquire as it may be possible to arrange a rush delivery. Please be aware, this may incur an extra charge.

Payment for dresses

We require a deposit of up to 50% of the cost of your dress at the time of ordering. The deposit is non refundable. The balance is payable when the dress arrives around 8 – 12 weeks before the wedding.

Accessories –tiaras and veils

Veils and accessories take between 1 and 6 weeks to arrive so whilst you may wish to choose these at the same time as your dress, you can leave this until your dress arrives.

Fittings & alterations

We provide an “in house” alteration service so we can ensure that your wedding dress fits perfectly. Once your dress has arrived in store we will contact you to arrange an appointment. The shop can be extremely busy on a Saturday which can be distracting for both yourself and our seamstress , therefore it would be greatly appreciated if you would consider arranging your fittings on weekdays too, please speak to your personal consultant if you would like to suggest a time that may not be in line with normal shop opening times to see if this can be accommodated.

You will be advised of any alteration charges when you order your dress. Your dress will then be stored on our premises until you are ready to collect it for your special day.

Outside alterations

We also provide an outside alteration service. So if you have purchased your gown from another store and it requires any alterations please do not hesitate to contact us to arrange a consultation.

Beware

An increasing number of brides have been purchasing the dress of their dreams from unauthorised shops and internet sites. Only purchase your gown from an authorised retailer that carries the label to ensure that your gown arrives on time and without any problems.

Advice and guidance in visiting the store

When it comes to shopping for your dress, bring one or two people whose opinion you really value, too many people can make it very confusing as they normally all have different views and this can make it even more difficult to decide. Wedding gowns can take up to six – seven months to order in store and then there are fitting and alterations to be carried out, so you need to make sure that you allow plenty of time, there's nothing worse than feeling that you are being hurried into making a rush decision. If you don't have much time until your wedding, don't despair! Some designers will make dresses for a rush fee and we always have some gowns which you can buy from stock. Our quickest bride bought her dress in the morning and wore it the next day!

Try to wear the right style and colour underwear, and a good bra can really help. It's important to keep an open mind, because it's usually the dress you don't like on the hanger that you really love when it's on. Your personal consultant will serve as a good guide, they are there to listen to you and their advice is invaluable.
